Bespoke & Bespelled: Re-Released!
OKAY, SO
Remember when I said had some exciting Bespoke & Bespelled1 news I’d been sitting on?
OKAY, SO: Bespoke & Bespelled has been acquired by 8th Note Press, and re-released this week, with a brand new, totally adorable cover by incredible artist Liz Casal!
Bespoke & Bespelled is a really special book to me. I wrote this witchy-seamstress-meets-Hollywood-star-on-set novella when I was sometimes worried I wouldn’t be able to write anything longer than a short story ever again. Writing the romantic and magical adventures of Marnie and Rider made me happy, and finishing their story gave me the confidence to leap back into full time writing.
AND, after I published the book in March this year, Allison Moore (who was the lovely editor at Little, Brown for my young adult books When We Wake and While We Run) got in touch. She asked if I’d consider re-releasing Bespoke & Bespelled via 8th Note.
I considered it, and I said yes.
I like being an indie author - the Olympus Inc. series is still very much all mine - but as I know from past experience, a more traditional publishing approach can get a lot of things done that I cannot manage alone2. Having access to the expertise of the excellent folks at 8th Note is invaluable, and it’s a real pleasure to work with Allison again.
Please note: if you’ve already acquired the first edition of Bespoke & Bespelled, there is absolutely no reason to buy the new one, unless you want a version with fewer typos, better hyphens, and a few extra sentences. Some scenes are fleshed out a little further, and a couple of ideas added, but the main narrative hasn’t changed at all.
But if you haven’t acquired the first edition, by all means grab this one! Enjoy some witchy romance set in my beautiful New Zealand, where a film production keeps going mysteriously wrong…
Honestly, it’s a great time to jump on board. The second book in the series, Savory & Supernatural, is coming out April 30.
I can’t wait for you to see what I’ve been cooking up.
